PERU, Lima, pillar 2 reales, Charles III, 1763 JM, mintmark with MA ligature, extremely rare, ex-O'Brien, ex-Fleming. Yonaka-L2.63; Cal-573; KM-62. 6.59 grams. Bold but harshly cleaned XF+ with old scratches, toning in letters, rated R4 in Yonaka with just one example observed that is not the same coin as this lot. Pedigreed to the John O'Brien Collection, with his tag, and to the Fleming Collection (Aureo & Calicó auction of November 2020, lot 1304).
